As we embrace the arrival of spring, we find ourselves in a month marked by a significant occasion: Cesar Chavez Day. This observance holds deep resonance for the values we uphold as healthcare professionals serving the diverse communities of Los Angeles County.
On both March 25, when the County honors Cesar Chavez per our Fringe Benefit contract, and on March 31, the official day that the legacy of Cesar Chavez is honored, we remember Chavez as a champion of civil rights and social justice. Chavez's tireless advocacy for farmworkers' rights reminds us of the importance of solidarity and equity in our own endeavors. As healers dedicated to the well-being of others, we draw inspiration from Chavez's commitment to uplifting marginalized communities, recognizing the interconnectedness of social and health justice.
In the County of Los Angeles, our collective efforts extend beyond individual practice to foster a healthcare system rooted in excellence, equity, and compassion. Together, we confront challenges, celebrate triumphs, and uphold the values that define our noble profession.
Moreover, as UAPD members, we are not only caregivers but also advocates for our patients, fighting for their well-being at the bargaining table. Through our collective bargaining efforts, we strive to ensure that our patients receive the quality care they deserve, addressing issues such as staffing levels, resources, and patient access to services.
As we commemorate Cesar Chavez Day, let us reaffirm our dedication to serving our communities with humility, empathy, and resilience. May this occasion inspire us to continue advocating for the well-being of all, advancing health equity, and shaping a brighter, healthier future for the residents of Los Angeles County.
In solidarity,
The UAPD Team
Great. We support you as the only team to crack into MEGAFLEX.
Remember no one has done this before. Make sure the doctors who got the A's in school are not subjected to the merit less C students. Our retirement benefits should meet or exceed theirs as we provide "direct care" and they dont.
Our regular salaries need increase to be competitive. Be flexible so the positions can be filled and have a date set to complete this study and raise salary until all seats are full. Last filled person sets salary salary across the board.
If we get full MEGAFLEX we can work on the salaries.
And Remember if our salaries are raised to a competitive market we won't…
