The following is a summary of bargaining for Dec. 5, 2023:
The UAPD negotiating committee, along with UAPD President Dr. Bussey, concluded Tuesday's bargaining session at 5:00 PM. We rejected management’s proposal as it provided no solutions to critical recruitment and retention issues and in fact exacerbates egregious equity concerns.
After the management team left, we caucused and – based on the lack of sincere movement – the bargaining team has decided to escalate strike preparations. A practice picketing session at Olive View Medical Center has been scheduled for Thursday, December 14. Click here for details.
We are preparing to strike but continue to assure the Board of Supervisors that we do not want to strike and it is up to them to resolve this matter to avoid a strike.
